Great counterpoint, re: vultures. But, life on earth evolved with predators in the mix. I’d be curious to know what life would look like without the presence of predators during evolution. Or, which set of life would be more evolutionarily

Yikes… I had no idea about CDN being able to see raw data. > forward a port From what I understand, my Eero router system will let me forward ports from my NAS. I haven’t tested this to see if it works, but I have the setting available i

I suppose yes, it is more confident and “easy” to pay a cloud provider. But we have more data than I’m willing to flush away money for cloud storage. As such, I’m hosting Immich and am figuring out remote access options. This kind of misses

Ok - curious if anyone can provide some feedback for me on this. I am running Immich on my home server and want to be able to access it remotely. I’ve seen the options of using wireguard or using a reverse proxy (nginx) with Cloudflare CDN,

Yes I frequently do this too. In fact I often ask whatever model I’m interacting with to not do anything until we’ve devised a plan. This goes for search, code, commands, analysis, etc. It often leads to better results for me across the b

Wouldn’t it be meta commentary if we’re discussing the nature of the comments, regardless of who made them? If not, what type of commentary would it be?

I also find LLMs to be more exhausting than Googling, but for me they’ve been ultimately more enriching and efficient. Specifically, I’ve been using Kagi Assistant over the past 1.5 months for serious and lengthy searches, and I can’t imagi

What field are you in, or what type of searching do you regularly do? I’m also curious about the LLM integration with Kagi. I currently pay for a Claude subscription but would be happy to drop that and pick up the $25/mo Kagi if LLM ac

My preferred approach is to narrow down to a list of 2-3 items, and ask the waiter/ess which they prefer. Even if they won’t explicitly say which they prefer, you can almost always tell which is best from facial reactions.

So I render all of my reports to PDFs, and I work in RStudio (love/hate relationship). As much as I love html outputs, it’s far easier to just email a pdf to my tech unsavvy stakeholders. I’ll share my file header and config chunks wit
