I agree. While not bitcoin, I played around with dogecoin for a while (I was tipped about 3000 doge on reddit for a post). Right before Christmas, dogewallet was hacked (where I had transferred my doges to). Some good folk over at reddit ba

In addition to the water spike, I think the lack of a "splash" when the water hits the surface makes it feel off. I wonder how feasible it is to get this part of the fluid mechanics right, without the whole thing just crashing and

Exactly. If I ask my mom or dad about bitcoin, they won't think "decentralized crypto currency", but "isn't that what they used on that silkroad site I heard about on Fox News a while back??"

When discussing suggestions for improvements, the author notes: >When Subway and Quiznos work well, they work well because you, customer X, and employee A, stick with each other the whole way down the line. To be honest, this hasn't

That was seriously painful to watch. From the host's hair, to the attempt at the rap genius guys trying to be "hip"... The entire thing feels like satire.

Not sure if it's related, but today, at 12:45PM (on a Sunday), I went to the local Chase branch (in San Jose) to withdraw some cash from the ATM. The branch was open and staffed, with tellers assisting those customers who needed to wit

As can CSS animations. On a project that targeted tablets (iPads and Androids), we eventually went back to good ol' gifs because of how bad SVG and CSS animations rendered and performed.

I'm having issues with selecting all in the middle of a sentence. Until I add a punctuation mark, it won't allow me to select all (just moves cursor to end...) Google Chrome Version 31.0.1650.57 on OS X 10.8.5

Agreed. Not only is USPS pickup free (as well as others), but depending on the method of shipping (USPS Priority, UPS, FedEx), the packing material could also be free. The question now begs whether the benefits of their service warrants the

I voted you up because I agree overall, but I disagree that it's a fad. I've been creating "flat" interfaces for years. When the whole "Web 2.0" hit with the shiny buttons and gradients, I briefly played with those design trends. But, as a

I opened my PayPal account in April of 2002 and have made hundreds of payments with no major issues. I rarely comment regarding PayPal (and occasionally join in on the PayPal hate -- it's too easy!), but count me in as someone who is doing

To be honest, it doesn't appear to be Photoshopped - at least to my eye. Snow is tough to photograph in general (all that bright, reflecting light!) - this just looks like a camera exposing for the foreground and blowing out the rest.

I joined a team working on a single page app that disabled text selection (via CSS user-select:none) to give it more of an "app" feel. While I understood disabling text selection on certain things, the "disable everything" approach drove me

Five months may seem like a long time, but trying to fix something that's pretty broken probably requires a bit of time to understand just what the hell you're trying to fix.

Unless you anticipate working for only the hottest start ups utilizing the latest buzzwords, dismissing PHP entirely might be a bit premature. It's still hugely popular with plenty of employers looking for developers with PHP experience.

HTML5 support doesn't suck. Check out http://caniuse.com , and you'll notice that non-IE browsers are doing a rockin' job supporting HTML5. If you develop for iOS or Android, HTML5/CSS3 has been a joy. Sure, there are hiccups, but support
