AUR, snap and flatpak all work differently. AUR is free for all with no trust implied or given but packages will be removed upon user intervention. So curation is basically done by users and other administrations but it doesn't prevent

Usually there are kiosks near the ticket machines or you could just ask people at the counter. Ironically I always check the printed/local displays since the online versions have no guarantee.

I don't want to go down this road but it is easier than how you make it out to be. For example matlab can be installed in $HOME even though it is proprietary because the install script takes that into account. I got frustrated by the W

Hello world program measures startup time which is not what julia is optimized for right now. I''ve heard that they are looking into it but it is not as important as startup time in python where we have a lot of python scripts as

I open all three in mpv from newsboat and it does a better job of handling them than a browser would using hardware decoding for videos.

It is not the job of the developer to package software, that is for maintainers. The best you could do is specify dependencies and tell them how to compile. If it is proprietary, then you might have to support a few popular formats(debs and

I think you would need to read the GPL to figure out that Debian can do this and you have no recourse (no warranty clause is pretty clear on this).

The current solution for rust or go applications seem to be just packaging the resultant binary even in the repositories. I don't know if they will ever ship rust libraries as packages.

All our traffic is analysed by unknown third parties but not all of us have reasonable expectation to get shot. I would have this expectation at least in places with decent regulation.
