I've been looking for good examples for my next book, but everything I've read about has turned out to be not used, including everything in Michael Bader's book [1], except for S2Geometry [2], but I feel like I need to talk t

In this page they have "space filling curves" as an example in one of the images, but I haven't been able to find production systems that actually use space filling curves for similarity search. Anyone have any tips?

A well written document should focus the reader. When everything is a hyperlink and a "thought map" then you'll just end up being distracted and either not reading the original doc, or clicking on nothing and ignoring the del

People interested in this should check out Frink. It has been around for a while and has thousands of unit conversions with explanations, as well as a web interface for the unit conversions part https://frinklang.org/ http

It's hard for me to pin it down, but after blogging for 10+ years and working on my second book now, I kind of just have a good feeling for what will work. The topic and my approach to it feels true and speaks to my experience.

It's more like: to implement add you need a ripple carry adder. You can't evaluate bit 6 until you've evaluated bits 1-5. So there's a nested dependence that makes the circuit deep. String cap, on the other hand, can be

Short answer: string cap has more parallelism in the circuit. Depth is more important than total number of gates, and optimizers can decrease depth pretty well.
