Part of the motivation for inventing complex new derivatives is to create things that look conservative to the model but are actually risky. Nailed it. Things like FX, commodities and equities are closed systems. These markets make their

I'm with you on this one. This must be a very hard hurdle for hosting based startups. Perhaps on of the github guys could comment?

Another important point: One is much closer to anarcho-capitalism in philosophy than the other. edit: if you downmod me, please explain why. this is a great opportunity to learn.

Do any programmers actually work only 8 hours a day..? I've never seen evidence suggesting this is actually true. 10+2 seems more realistic.

What's new is where a lot of independent programmers are. What's necessary is for something very practical to require scheme. Ruby would still be a hobbyists language if Rails didn't come along. Perhaps arc could help here in the future b

It seems odd to me that this isn't coupled with a network host of some kind. Organizing my tasks is rarely the hard part. It's remembering them from anywhere that proves tricky. Perhaps instead of a network host, something better integrated

In perl you can write 'if(!bool) { ... }', 'unless(bool) { ... }', or even '... if(!bool)' As I said, I'm not an expert in the languages in question, but the scope of code formatting flexibility is larger than just whitespace.

Without knowledge of JRuby, IronPython or Jython, I'm curious how Python's low tolerance for code formatting flexibility has helped here. Anyone?

I have recently heard people saying Python is too slow and Java is preferred for some thing. Since I'm a bit of a newbie in the python world I'm not sure what to suggest. Do y'all have an opinion on this?

I'm not so sure. It seems more like astrology, in that it's vague enough to apply to someone who wants to think of themselves as an absent-minded genius, than thesis material. Apply the context of programming and you've got a sure hit, albe
