I don't think it is the Microsoft part or that anything becomes evil merely by changing hands. Just that the network effect of chat clients or social media platforms in general is so finicky that changing hands might be enough to cause

Very strange, but hello. I am alive and well. I hope you find the motivation or determination to complete your task.

I am patiently waiting for Discord to be sold to some corporation such as Microsoft so we can all move on to the next big thing. I wonder what it will be. Probably not Matrix, but definitely something.

It's closer to the truth than it being artificial intelligence.

Some day once we strip the entire planet of its accessible natural resources and turn it into trash the landfills will be the only place left to scrounge for rare materials.

Are they intentionally conflating privacy with ads? They are still going to harvest your data either way.

I'd consider paying for Premium if they remove the free with ads version of Youtube. Ideally every single person on the planet blocked ads on Youtube on every imaginable platform so they were forced to restrict all access to content if

Fair enough if that is what they believe. Personally I find AGI is a bit unrealistic and mentioning it is just for the purpose of creating hype. It feels like something Musk would say to give people this vague futurism belief of their tech

Are people going to start throwing around the term "AGI" now that "AI" has become diluted? Eventually we are going to have to start using "RAGI" to indicate that we are talking about real artificial general int

I'm not opposed to having a car of Theseus, but I'm not particularly wealthy so like most people I would have to replace it once the cost of maintenance exceeds the cost of monthly payments on something newer.

I am really dreading the day my current car from 2015 that has no fancy tech features fails beyond repair and I have to get a new car. I will first attempt to get an older car with low mileage, but old cars won't last forever.

There is a collection of shorts by Chinese (mostly woman) authors called Sinopticon that I enjoyed. It's nice to read things that don't follow any of the tropes that I'm used to or at least uses them in very different ways.

That's also what happens when you turn hobbies into jobs that then become necessities. If you want to pay the bills you have to do and say controversial nonsense or be incredibly exaggerated.

I am willing to take that risk. It's not really a big concern to begin with. I'd consider someones review if they bought the game themselves, they don't generate any revenue from it and we have had similar taste in the past.

I'd rather watch some gameplay footage with no commentary. I don't find that a person reviewing a video game contributes anything meaningful to the decision of whether or not I want a game or not unless I know them personally and

I'm really enjoying Scavengers Reign, but I can't help but feel like the local biology is a bit too absurdist. Or the amount of consistently lucky moves some of the characters would had to make to discover some weird quirk of that

I don't think there is any possibility of the current "AI" suddenly doing anything damaging on its own or anything at all on its own. The worst that I can see happening which is probably already happening is people using it t
