Unknown, but it's overstated how much of that $150 million cash injection actually helped. It's more likely the undisclosed sum (well higher) that kept Apple from the brink of bankruptcy.

I'm quite happy with my mid-2014 Macbook Pro, but if I were in the market for an upgrade, I'd buy a Razer Blade Stealth and install Ubuntu on it.

I've just moved to Netherlands and noticed this. Cash & Maestro (Debit) cards are the norm here. Credit cards aren't any more popular in the UK, but our debit cards tend to be Visa/Mastercard and we use them the same way.

Judging from the fact that Windows 10 still uses icons from 1995, I am surprised to learn that Microsoft even has a design department.

HNLondon is probably the best tech meetup in Europe. It's hard to convey what makes it so special, and why other meetups can't seem to replicate its magic. I highly recommend going if you can.

Best thing about JavaScript is the speed of development. Once you master it, all other languages & ecosystems feel verbose, archaic. Modern JS (ES2015+) combined with a code style (Standard, Airbnb) is beautiful, sometimes more so than

Thanks for pointing that out. Though there's a difference between UX and UI. Would be nice to see some UIs on that list too.

Precisely that. To in-the-loop JS developers, Bower is old news. To see Bower/Less/jQuery in 2016 conjures up images of out of touch backend developers living in 2011. There are better alternatives available (NPM/PostCSS/

Is preference not a valid reason? :) Other reason: the syntax is more explicit, and already familiar to anybody who has used Maps [1] I find your syntax a little confusing. It's not immediately obvious how I would set multiple cookies

Good work, but I prefer the syntax of cookies-js [1] Side note, Bower is a dying package manager. You'd get better results if you promoted the npm link over bower. [1] https://www.npmjs.com/package/cookies-js

Evernote is not a startup any longer. I understand the grey area, but as an industry we need to reach some kind of consensus on this word.

I spoke to Tom (CEO of Mondo) at HN London about Simple. His take is that Simple failed, and that Mondo are following a different path. I'm not clued in enough to know the benefit of being a bank vs. building a UI over a willing bankin

Do you have any plans to launch a data center in India? AWS is launching one this year, and I imagine this will be a huge boon to the startup industry here. As of 2016, AWS is the better bet.

Depends how you look at it. I use my key pair as my digital identification, whether at work or at home. I only have the one set. That logic held up until now I suppose, with the leaking of private keys.
