That would push things towards the mean... not necessarily a bad thing, but presumably later steps of the analysis will be pooling/averaging data together so not that useful. A more interesting approach, let's call it OPTION2, wou

Me too. I do a lot of text editing on a daily basis and I find I gain at least +10 IQ points when I print out the text and review on paper. My colleague swears by her iPad, but I always go the paper route.

CMapTools (the software made by ihmc.us) is one of the best tools for creating concept maps. Nice to see cmaps explained well. If you're interested in seeing some examples, you can check out the following cmaps from my books: High Scho

It's not a complete book, but the topics it covers are well explained. Maybe the fact it is concise is a feature—you can quickly get an overview of each topic, without all the details a textbook author would have to cover... Here is a

It would be nice if you have a contiguous time to sit and learn CALC, but it's not required. You can think of it as a Mario World level with several stages, that you can complete one at a time. The bottom half of the page in this conce

That was a nice summary. The data-poor and computation-poor context of old school statistics definitely biased the methods towards the "recipe" approach scientists are supposed to follow mechanically, where each recipe is some pre

Thanks for sharing. I talk to a lot of people about math and many of them (adults) have intense math anxiety. I always wonder what kind of trauma could have led to this, because I assumed the I-suck-at-math is such a private feeling, at wor
