I think the majority of the candidates are capable, and a lot of them are probably quite excellent. But when you have that many candidates for so few positions, you have the luxury of really trying to go for the best people.

Not a huge fan of Google getting more control over the net. On the bright side, Cloudflare getting a serious competitor is good.

There’s a bot on Reddit that automatically posts summaries of long articles (/u/autotldr). Looks like it uses the smmry.com API, and it works quite well. Something similar for HN would be interesting.

I'd love to see a benchmark against Sequelize as well. Not sure how I feel about it not being async...

When you’re creating a snap (using Snapcraft), at the moment, you have to use Ubuntu or something like Docker (although this will change soon). Installing snaps works fine on any major Linux distro.

You should use uBlock Origin and Stylus. They both support the new WebExtensions API and are generally better alternatives than ABP and Stylish.

I’m sad that I’ll have to stop using VimFX, it was the best Vim plugin I could find. It was lightweight and did just what it had to (I absolutely hate the custom search/address bar thing in Vimium). My alternative right now is Saka Key
