The editor is doing a final pass through it this summer, so the first print version will be ready for August. But, when I say August, it probably means September ;) The eBook version has been ready for a while now, and it gets constantly up

Speaking of short tutorials on linear algebra, you should check out this one I wrote last year. It's more of a "prepare for an exam" document, but it gets to the core idea of matrix-vector product serving as a way to "im

Wow this is an awesome online book. Goes into a lot of details, and uses words to convey the important things + supports it with code. Another good tutorial, more specific to OpenGL, is this one: http://www.songho.ca/opengl&

Yes, LA is definitely worth relearning. I had a great time writing it since it was a chance for me to review a lot of material. Even more fun was writing about the numerous applications, in the end about 1/3 of the book is on applicati

Did you get the print version from amazon? Or a bookstore? I've found the amazon print-on-demand quality to be stuck in "economode" sometimes. I personally recommend people to purchase from lulu because the print quality ther

Wow, this is awesome! The Block-sphere "spy probe" is an amazing way to show what's going on with each qubit[1]. I wish I had this when I was teaching the intro to QM course! Suggestion: add some sort of menu for import/

So rather than actions/reducers being in separate files, they are part of one state-holder object? See like a useful simplification, but would be good if you can explain a little more what is the difference with usual react/redux

Why would you need to rollback? The new DB is not authoritative until the final step of the switchover, so you could easily scrap it at any point.

Learning quantum mechanics is not a big deal if you have a good background in linear algebra. I wrote a book on linear algebra that covers the basics of quantum mechanics as an application. No bullshit guide to linear algebra https:/

At my old job I had to do a major cleanup of a git repo with dozens of old branches. I got really good with the `git log` command. Here my alias form my ~/.gitconfig that shows author, branches, and remotes in a colorful manner:

Very interesting and promising. A related approach is to implant the islets in a "pocket" under the skin, which supposedly is easier to monitor and requires less immuno-suppressing drugs [1,2]. [1] http://www.nature.com

That's very cool. The API seems fairly similar to SymPy. It would be great to have a CAS that can perform simple operations in the browser, and ship more complicated things to a SymPy backend (or another CAS). http://live.sy

Fully agree. Your semantics of "expounder" and "expounded" spans is much more coherent. It's a new modality, but I think it has a lot of potential: I love explanations with "multiple levels" in general...
