For tax purposes it would be best to request to be taxed as an S-Corp. You can then incorporate as an LLC or a corporation.

Interesting you find that scammy. It is for real though. I'm a consultant and it's been a real pain trying to collect large payments without getting killed on fees. The information is required by law by the patriot act for any ban
