I switched from iTerm to Terminal about a year ago, since I am using tmux for multiplexing and emacs for file management with magit. I don't really miss any iTerm features. Have to look up what's new!

I don't find it difficult to not use Google the search engine (instead opting for DuckDuckGo, only resorting to Google but for the most challenging queries). I found switching from Gmail to ProtonMail was a lot more hassle than I thoug

As someone who'd always pick CLJS over Js, for the heck of it I tried to build React / Redux / React-router based app and was blown away at how dev friendly the experience was. No fiddling with tooling, the entry barrier can&

I wanted to love Quantum (really liked the Containers for cookies and sessions, found it useful many times) but it takes up too much CPU. I kept track of the issue https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1404042 It see

In the Netherlands, the pastry section in Albert Heijn features "sausage rolls", and I tell you, the meat-substitues ones taste good, and very close to the ones that contain actual animal protein. It's not because their produ

Firefox is still cutting my MacBook battery by 1.5 and often munching through 30% of cpu on many websites, with or without extensions and adblocker. It’s a shame because I love the browser in every way than the rest of the browser gang.

I think the point of the advice was not higher performance, but to get out of the destructive non-functional loop. If anything, I think concentrating on performance and competition can make it worse.

Hell, even implementing CRUD applications with Datomic / Clojure and Clojurescript is blowing everything else out of the water. No string literals, pure data. Add transit to the mix and you get full-stack killer combo with unparalleled

Awesome transitions! One minor annoyance is toggles is meant to respond instantly, and when I click it just accelerates tad slow as to make you think it's a bit lagged. Looks very cool, though.

Sitting on one now. What makes you enjoy its design? I have bought the remastered one a week ago and find myself difficult to fit into it properly (the sizing is right). I feel like the lower back support requires you to fit very rigidly in

My observations seem to differ. Every now and then I slip into increasing my dose. But, for 90% of the time I drink one shot of espresso in the morning. It keeps me alert for most of the day. When I feel a bit bored or lazy after lunch, I&#

They OP's logic makes sense if you don't consider quality of life and energy levels. I find exercise makes me more energetic in general and improves clarity of mind. Some other improvements (possibly attributed to placebo?) are re

I think 2015 mbp is the closest a laptop got to being perfect for me. Screen, battery life, trackpad, finish and performance. All in a beautiful balance. I used to dislike macos so much that went mbp 2015 > thinkpad > sp4. I realised

If sticking yubikey into dongle to connect to your laptop is such a big deal for you, for the love of thigs why did you go full usb-c? Why did you get the touchbar model? Seems like bad research on your end than poor execution. As for keybo

It's hard for me to understand the issue with this. Google didn't hire the guy who wrote software that had a big impact on the community. Does it mean Google misses good engineers because of their less-than-ideal interview process

I don't need the latest and the greatest, but a good 4:3 or 16:10 screen and linux compatibility. I haven't found the good combination and bought a new MBP and still happy with it.

I am working on a software project where I am the only developer. I was an employee for 3 years, working with team 3 to 5. Then, everybody left and so did I. I continued to do some contract work for the company. I have stepped my toes in an
