As someone who worked with Google from a customer perspective, they take pride in the fact that their big data (BigTable, BigQuery, DataFlow) is proprietary and superior the their OSS alternatives (I believe they actually are). I am not say

I think that because its a virtual actor with different characteristics that regular well known actors it might be a good idea to call or differently to avoid confusion.

Java always had an awesome open source community around it that produced frameworks, libraries and tools that inspired many other communities. but at it's core, Oracle was and still is the exact opposite of open (JVM, J2EE as examples)

Agree about Windows command prompt being lame compared to bash, but I really find PowerShell amazing, even more so then bash. If you look at all the recent (even not so recent) products from MS, it is clear that PowerShell is the shell for

I like the creativity, but I think for daily use I still prefer the table inspired week view (or 3 day view for portrait mode) as it gives me a better sense of orientation. For execution you get A+ :) really well executed.

Reading about the latest announcements of Ubuntu on Windows lead me to this fascinating concept from MS I did not know about. Too bad they were focused on the desktop scenario and not the server (although they do mention it).

Regarding your example - why would you commit any of the 5 little commits, If they didn't complete the task, and also are breaking the product? wouldn't it be better to commit only when you completed the task you were working on?

Those are completely unrelated products. Functions is a server-less philosophy kind of thing. SF is a cluster management and orchestration technology so obviously very server oriented (It manages servers)

The problem was that it wasn't R&D. Research was separated from Development. This is something Satya publicly stated he wanted to change, and I hope he will.
