I guess they had a look to the key performance numbers at Reddit after the blackouts, and finally understand that Reddit with new regime control kills popularity, sub-reddits going black can cause a pretty visible dip in the visitor stats.

Is this supposed to be great performance? I think Netty does ~30K/s (1800000 req/min) out of the box. It thought Go has more out of the box performance, maybe I am missing something.

"A gun ban is a reasonable and effective way of reducing the number of school shootings" I just wanted to debunk this myth. As you pointed out there is more to it. I was thinking a lot and I think any sort of gun ownership should

Any proof? There are several countries in Europe with relaxed gun laws and we don't have too many shootings. While in Germany ("Gun legislation in Germany is considered among the strictest gun control in the world") we have s

The lack of interest. If you haven't used a language that has a REPL you don't know how powerful it is. Most of the Java devs I know haven't used REPL with any other language.

At least pre-Pao times you could create a sub to your liking. I don't agree with many of the subs and their content there but I think that my liking should not be forced on others, and we should definitely not sacrifice diversity and c

Removing the content you don't like comes in different shapes. Reducing diversity is bad in the context of people and culture, why is it different online? I know why, we need profit. Profit over people, profit over diversity. Anyways,

FB is actively changing how you see the world through it by removing the content you do not like to see. This is how it yields to more divided society. http://www.people-press.org/2014/06/12/political-polariza

I think profit must be driven out from communication channels if we would like to have a non-dividing, truly open community. There are proofs that profit oriented social sites do not serve the community and yields to a highly divided societ

I do not use goto in my code. What do I do wrong? :) Ok, I have to admit that I used it on C64 in the 80s. Anyways, exceptions are sort of gotos or at least they can behave that way.

Tyranny does not work. Communities built from ground up cannot be ruled by a new emperor, it has its own immune system to eject the foreign body almost like the human body. This is happening now.

Thanks for sharing this. Mnesia is a little bit quirky at the first glance but it is a pretty cool system. LevelDB also battle tested lots of systems build on it. I am curious how good is combining the two.
