They looked at people's facial expressions, it wasn't based on self-reporting of emotion. The subjects were treated as animals in a biology experiment. You can look it up easily enough, the guy's name is Silvan Tomkins and

Personally, I think the question of the effect exercise has on my lifespan is irrelevant. A lot of people talk about exercise being valuable because it makes you healthy. I like all the wonderful benefits of being healthy and in good shape

Type checking is a conservative analysis, and the type correctness of a program is undecidable. But you can still rely on the knowledge generated by your type checker without having to run your program. Among other things, this allows you

Maybe that's just on average though. My guess is that when you look at high-IQ groups, learning to read early is better.

RMS uses "freedom" to mean "the best thing you can have", kind of like, but also kind of opposite to, the way people use "freedom" to describe America. It's just propaganda, who cares. Many people view p

Kunstler has been writing about peak oil for ages, and is something of an expert in this area, despite being "crazy" - I mean, he definitely sounds crazy, but then again, there's a reasonable chance he could be right about th
