I'm a contractor/consultant and know exactly what you're talking about. Things that help me. 1) Finish all client work first 2) Reach out to my network, not for work but just to catch up with people, sometimes work comes out

4 years ago my team built out a new CMS website for a large media company that had many different sub brands and multiple language requirements. We did a lengthy comparison against a big range or CMS solutions, we found Django CMS https:&#

Thank you for this response. Ideally I'm looking for a way to improve my general abilities so that I don't need flash cards, but instead I would just remember something someone has told me, do you know of anything like that?

Infrastructure is one thing that seems to catch a lot of people off guard. So many infrastructure tools are based on monitoring HTTP codes, but even when there are errors graphql servers send 200s unless modified. It turned into quite the

I'm a full stack engineer that does lots of react in my day job. I now use jquery in all my side projects because I want to get them done instead of spending lots of time getting the project setup. Nothing beats adding a script tag in

Yes, I did this. Moved from the big apple to a small city to raise a family and spend my weekends fishing, kayaking, and skiing. I love the outdoors so this was always the right move for me.

I appreciate that you're being positive but with media companies I'm much more cynical. I think we're going to see a price increase to stay ad free or an option to have the same price with advertising. So it will be a price

I grew up as lower middle class, and so did my wife. We are doing well financially but we both have a huge aversion to debt which means we save and buy a lot of things in cash even when it's not an advantage. I know this is an artifac

I tend to agree with your assessment that this is the age of "quality doesn't matter" but I would like to tweak it a little bit. This is the age where novelty is more important than quality. Something new can be of the lowes

This is exactly right, in fact if you think about tax breaks on losses it can actually make a lot of sense to sell yourself the same asset at a loss. In the case of crypto you probably wouldn't sell an NFT at a loss, but a coin would
