I guess aviation is a very conservative industry and probably for a good reason. If something works and passed tests and FAA approved there are no reasons replacing that? :)

It feels to me that it's pretty much the same. You still have to do review at some point, means engineer will be distracted, and probably it will require immediate attention since it's already merged, other things can depend on it
