This is true. Worthy of note: this toolkit was released fairly recently and there hasn’t been much time yet for commercial game devs to consider using it. Here’s hoping they do.

Pass the system’s usual video signal through the voodoo unmodified when not generating 3D graphics. Replace the signal entirely with the voodoo’s own signal when generating 3D graphics.

I’m not OP but I assume they’re talking about fully blacked out windows, not the kind that just blocks heat from the sun.

The majority of the problems you listed here are not possible with Wireless Apple CarPlay or Wireless Android Auto, which are the latest incarnations of the product. Adapters exist for many vehicles that don’t support the wireless versions

Check out upstate NY. I found a <20 year old 4000sqft home, >40 acres, gigabit fiber internet, in ground pool, outbuildings, and a backup generator for well under $500k. Even with the higher taxes here vs the west coast, I'm ahea

You’re right about the gas meter, but the town/city infrastructure necessary to pump gas through said meter does rely on electricity. They have backups, but for how long? Long enough to ride out most power outages, but nothing unexpect

A recruiter from gitlab reached out to me last week for a SRE management position. My guess is they had no idea about the impending layoff.

An air conditioner - even a crappy $200 window unit - will draw an order of magnitude more power than OP’s 50 watt refrigerator. You’ll need much more solar, either more panels or bigger panels (likely both).

Please, and I do not mean this offensively - I wish I could be as disengaged from world events as you are - can you tell me how you manage it? It used to be useful for me to be on top of everything, but I've been questioning that latel

No, no one can do this because it’s not real. It’s not even pseudoscience, it’s 100% BS.

The ability for power companies to deliver on this reliably is decreasing as our society grows increasingly low-trust. This is why you may want to take control of your own destiny and secure your own source of power.

In the mid to late 90s, domains cost $50 per year, and you had to buy the first two years up front, so a domain cost $100. Nowhere near 25% of the cost of a new computer which were much more expensive back then.

My point is that Mastodon existed before it was as famous as it is now, and will continue to exist after, because it never needed to be famous to exist in the first place, unlike Clubhouse.

The way the article omits mentioning the ECT memory loss side effect is often permanent, and the way it omits that ketamine’s dissociative effects are always temporary, screams of quackery.

This is what keeps me off Tiktok. I feel like I’m losing my mind even having to make a judgement like this, but I trust Facebook more than China. Only a tiny bit, but it’s there.
