Is he still working at Facebook? This letter reads extremely weirdly. Almost like they are building a narrative inside the company to keep people entertained. Politics playing at the highest levels. (Well when you are an exec in a company f

What is the benefit, if you get the same output from "kubectl" as regular GKE, or from any other distro. Basically, this is yet another paid packaged Kubernetes distribution, that has the explicit goal to do "Hybrid clusterin

agreed that the := that can be used when one new var is introduced but not the others is extremely confusing. I also hate the inconsistent behavior when you check multiple errors in a row, the first one will get := but not the second one (i

The issue is that the commonly accepted definition of diversity is always about having different gender, race and sexual orientation represented. The important thing though is to achieve diversity of thought, which is a positive thing since

It all comes down if you believe in timing the market. I know that the best advice is to not time the market, and simply invest in the long term, riding through the market depressions. That being said, a couple of my friends managed to succ

The only thing that I see more and more, is that it has been now 10 years since the 2008 crisis and the longer it has been, the longer people start to realize that something is going to happen eventually (Thanks captain obvious). Beside tha

yes, which is also a way of saying that the whole market is ALWAYS a bubble, and there is absolutely no way to tell when it is going to deflate again. Markets are made to inflate and deflate. Predicting that a deflation will happen doesn&#x

I agree, but in tech and other highly paid job, workers are actually PROUD to work long hours (and sometimes weekend). There is that whole narrative that was created that working in a startup/big tech company for long hour is really co

The issue is also that most of the automatic gearboxes on gas cars are garbage and are responsible for that lagging feeling when you want to accelerate. If you drive a fully manual car, you are already way closer to a real acceleration. Tha

It is a shame that we live in that culture in which you need to constantly pretend to be overworked in order to be seen as productive and efficient. I agree with you, a lot of people in Silicon Valley are taking it easy one or two days at w

Thanks for your report! Looks like I might be overvaluing the fun factor of an Audi S4 compared to a Model 3. I'm also wondering if the feel of an electrical engine is a personal thing? I have heard from one of my friend owning a Motel

I have seen very positive critics and some negative ones. I fully agree that it is a good car, the whole discussion here is about the price tag, and if it is worth it in comparison of what a traditional ICE car can offer. I think it is deba

I was a passenger to a Tesla (Both model S and 3) and drove an Audi S4/S5 and a Golf R. While I agree that the "feel" is different between gas and electric, I think you are overestimating what the Model 3 can do. To come back

But is it though ? for 50+k$ I can think of a couple cars that I think are way more fun to drive than a middle class Model 3. (we are not talking Model S here) For example an Audi S4/S5, or for a bit cheaper, a fully jacked up VW Golf

It might be a good car, but not at that price tag. If I had to spend 50+k$ for a car, I would definitely not go for a Tesla Model 3. I would go with a reliable BMW/Mercedes/Audi that is way more luxurious and offer more functional

I have been thinking about this a lot. On average, each year I use some of my PTO to be able to take some 3 day weekends which I really enjoy for going outdoor. This means that I have had some ground to compare 4 day weeks and 5 day weeks.

I have a mixed view about this. On one hand I'm happy to see money going back to open source, but then I'm not sure those foundations are a good thing at the end of the day. They bring politics, ego, and other undesired side-effec

I had to read this whole thing twice to find what it is all about. A lot of self-congratulatory corporate speak there. I wish companies could just clearly state what is going on sometimes. Then I'm not surprised, this is Facebook...

I agree with you, and this is the whole issue with identity politics. It is all about categorizing people and assuming everything about them based on their groups. We should look at the individuals.
