Look at all the people on HN saying they want to hire based on SO rep and a Github account.

So privacy is either impossible or mandatory? The slopes sure are slippery around here. I shouldn't have worn my dress shoes.

Just started using OS X heavily at work on a large monitor and started to notice a bit of a window clutter problem. Your app looks like it could be the ticket!

I'm not blaming anyone currently alive, but it's definitely sad that millions of people, along with their cultures, were wiped out wholesale by rapacious or at best careless invaders. I don't think that's a controversial sentiment.

I'm torn on this issue. Socioeconomic class is of towering importance, and has been neglected in favor of pure race for far too long; but racism is very real, and remains a potent force worldwide. It is counter-productive, I think, to look

Maybe I'm overestimating the learning capacity of two-year-olds, but isn't that something you'd learn after a few times?

America has an open internet, and we're pretty awful at reform. Apples and oranges, though. We're replacing rotten floorboards and broken balcony rails; they're building a house up from rubble.

True, but I see it as a defining characteristic of "scripting" languages that they are great at quickly and easily automating everyday computing tasks... Something you would be hard pressed to say about Java. But is there a term that expres

It's more likely that they had the phones respectfully silenced, but wanted to see incoming messages flash on the screen. I leave my Droid 1 lying face-up for the same reason.

I have to say, I like company Facebook pages because it's much harder to make an awful Flash-heavy mystery-meat-navigation autoplay-music unselectable-text mess of a site within Facebook. That's also the reason I quit Myspace.

Believe it or not, this has actually happened to me. I was going through a long literary dry spell, and my SO of the time turned to me once and said "I miss those poems you used to write." I told her, "the only thing I can write right now i

People will be tempted to say "good job, science, now tell me something I don't know", but honestly, taking common sense and elevating it at least to the level of hypothesis is an underrated aspect of science. Every now and then, such a "no
