It is true that they are more pragmatic. But still no dice for me. Perhaps, I should be more careful what I wish for, haha. Both System76 and Purism have a "We teach you to fix it" support attitude. So when you run into trouble yo

I recall running into issues with WiFi firmware from Purism. I installed the prop. driver and got some improvement. Although, I ended up upgrading the wifi chip altogether in the end.

I find that a bit surprising since my understanding is RISC-V is more minimal (has fewer higher level instructions) (ATM, that will change with extensions) then ARM. This paper refutes your point and is inline with my understanding: https:

The RISC-V ISA would be the better bet. a. They start investing now and they can have some leverage in the spec. b. The spec is minimal and open to expansion that it sets itself up for more domain specific processors. Which we will be seein

I get the sense that a better solution would be to make home ownership as simple as renting. A few ideas: - One page contract - Ban loans for private home ownership (or socialize them but you would have to do that in a a very particular man

My understanding is that pollution has a short term (~weeks) cooling effect due to global dimming, and a long term (~decades) warming effect due to the greenhouse effect. So this may cause a short term spike in global temperatures over the

Nah, I got another theory. Basically, people that tend to be more 'intelligent'/'successful' are better at learning. You optimize learning in a similar fashion to a start-up. By failing fast. In general I think you

The idea rubs me the right way but why not 1, 2, 3... I think a more modular versioning standard might be good as semantic versioning can be very helpful in certain projects like libraries. Like if your project has x abstract property then

Flutter is a very good bet IMO. It uses Dart was designed from the ground up to be a solid front end language instead of building on top of JS. The underlying architecture of flutter is clearly articulated and error messages are informative

I am particular about how I code my builds so they are portable. I like debugging locally, its faster. Gitlab-Ci does not encourage this and I usually end up refactoring my colleagues code all the time to this end. Not sure if having a runn
