Yeah, I think you've got it. 1. Initial page load dumps in as much data as possible to get things started. 2. All writes go through the Django API (we just look for a success/fail response). 3. All new/real-time data gets pushed to the clie

We have a (undocumented) public API to let you do everything you can do on the site. We have mentioned embedding discussions on other sites a couple times the past, but haven't come to any conclusions there. Is that what you have in mind?

Recent versions of Python have a JSON prettifier baked in. On OS X, if you have ugly JSON in your clipboard, simply run this: $ pbpaste | python -mjson.tool
