The UK has a visa waiver for transit passengers Last time I checked, the waiver only applied if you were coming to/from a whitelist of countries, which included the US. In the past, I've had to explicitly avoid Heathrow because of its vi

You cannot start a LLC in the US all by yourself This doesn't seem right... Do you have a resource? Or did you really mean "You cannot start a LLC in the US all by yourself AND have it sponsor you"?

Indeed, this is correct (AFAIK). Then again, some people have done it, but I'm not familiar with their particular situations or which loopholes they used :)

My understanding is that you can own a company (or part of one). However, you most definitely _cannot_ do any work for it or take any salary, because your current visa is not sponsored by it. (You can only ever work for your visa sponsor).

Such a distinction is reserved only for classes with a reputation for being especially difficult and time consuming. I disagree with this. I think the reason why some classes are called by their name are usually because of speed/convenien

"I don't pay an annual membership with ZipCar" You don't? how come? I thought their only pricing structures were either (a) annual fee, or (b) monthly commitment (with variations in fees).

Well, you could argue that some "IQ segregation" already happens, by virtue of having highly selective private schools, advanced placement, etc. I think the students (or parents when they're too young) should have choice though, and be able

I do think that's what the author meant. I see the point, but on the other hand, it seems extremely hard to measure and account for. Unless the difference is abysmal, I don't think it would be right to discriminate based on socioeconomic ba

People need to understand that MIT and most other top tier schools have insanely amazing need-based financial aid programs. If you really can't afford it, don't worry, you won't have to. Yes, you'll accumulate some debt, but it's more like

I'm pretty sure that these strategies work, but I would just feel "wrong" doing some of them. I can't help thinking of them as trickery and deceit. Perhaps I'd be a crappy negotiator, but I'd much rather take a more honest approach. Maybe I
