Those graphs were really confusing. The email volume line graph. Are those data points per hour? every half hour? How can they have a seemingly continuous line graph for this histogram-style data? The "<20 words" graphs.. they don't loo

jasonshen, you misspelled at least 4 of the names of the people you covered. I wouldn't have said anything if it was just one or two (everyone makes mistakes), but 4 (at least) is kind of excessive. Edit: in fear of downvotes for calling ja

"Elements can never beat a class selector, even if you pile them on" Uhh.. what about classes? Can you pile classes on to beat ids? Can you pile ids to beat inline? (Well that kinda doesn't make sense).

I (unknowingly) posted my code for the class on Github. As you point out, I did it with the "yay public code" mindset, not thinking about cheating at all. I'm taking it down right now and apologizing to the Coursera staff.

Why only Southwest? Do other airlines not allow this? Also, are you using some API or a more "primitive" method?

ok. I think it's more worthwhile to spend that time trying to bring the company down, not wasting 1 guy's time, out of hundreds or perhaps thousands.

No, bu why actively screw with the file and rank employee? Assuming he just gets a salary, cool, waste all his time (which costs the scamming company). But if he works on commission then why bother? I would put my efforts in bringing down t

Pardon my ignorance, but what does this mean? That Zynga will pay OMGPOP less than what we had heard? How can they do that? (Sorry I'm not from around here and don't understand the "write down" language. I presume it's different than "under

While it's fun to do this, sometimes I think of the flipside. This scammer is probably trying to make a living and support his family. The company's owner though, is probably not in the need to do these unethical things. He/she should be sc

This, so much! In many instances the only choice you have is to bribe the tax inspector so he doesn't impose a completely unreasonable fine on your business. Then you're essentially fighting the government to see who pays the tax inspector

I'm from Venezuela. I guess this doesn't affect these global numbers, but mortality is pretty high due to rampant crime. 20,000 were murdered in 2011. Murder rate is much much higher than other nations that get more media coverage, such a

Already happens in most cities in South America I've been to (and in Caracas, where I grew up). They sell all kinds of stuff: snacks, jewelry, car freshners, cold soda/beer (they carry around little coolers -- and yes, they sell beer to dri

Couple of fun data points: I grew up in Caracas, where traffic was just as bad. It would take me ~1 hour to get to school in the morning, and 2-3 hours to get back home during rush hour. My school was only 6 miles away. Caracas is a terribl

AFAIK, companies don't get to just keep unclaimed gift cards money. They have to give it to the government. But now that I think about it, I'm not sure how never-expiring gift cards work..

Yes, sqp(abc)^r/c is greater than 0. But what we are saying here is that it is _bounded_. The formulation in the article is a little confusing/non-intuitive. A perhaps more 'layman' explanation is that for every r > 1, there are only fi

Seems like in-app payments factor into the $1k calculation. 1. Build free app 2. Purchase virtual "<whatever>" for $1,000. 3. Collect $8,000.

Can you elaborate? What data do you collect, and what data do "similar" apps collect? What are the similar apps you refer to? Thanks!
