I'm in the same situation. I'm demotivated as I'm not that interested in the promotion opportunities as I wouldn't enjoy management. I think working in a different company would be be better. I'm considering a small

I'll leave this H.L. Mencken quote here that aptly describes the Economist. The nature of periodicals and newspapers especially militant, crusading ones is timeless. “One of the principal marks of an educated man is the fact that he do

I'm curious why you consider a periodical that you admit is heavily biased and has a certain agenda, the "most respected". I read the Economist occasionally with exactly the caveat that you mention, it is an extremely biased

I moved to brave when they made that blog post [1]. I’m very happy although I agree it’s better to have competition in the browser space. I’ve also moved to brave search recently after DuckDuckGo announced they were downgrading Russian si

In Ireland the national grid is under strain due to electricity usage from data centres, so much so that there is discussion to deny permission for new ones. I very much doubt that the electricity costs are negligible, it’s also one of the

I’ve tried both blumat and arduino style watering, in the end the water can is the simplest and most reliable. Sometimes technology doesn’t enhance things e.g. the soil moisture sensor gets wet, doesn’t give good readings, hard to calibrate

I live in Ireland and get less than €70k as a senior dev. Ireland is considered to have relatively high salaries for software developers, at least in a Europe.

I haven't heard of FreeOffice before, it looks like an interesting product. How do they support devlopment? It is closed source and doesn't appear to have a pricing model. EDIT: Investigating a bit more there appears to be a paid

What is federation in this context? Does not federated mean not using a jailbroken phone? Or is it related to how the app is installed? Or the underlying infrastructure relying on a central server instead of distributed?

I’ve just never really used word by sticking to a theme, and tend to end up using custom formatting quite a bit e.g. I use heading 2 where I shouldn’t and should be using heading 1, use paragraphs in the wrong place etc. Use some custom for
