This is only a problem with headsets that have poor drivers. Better devices like Jabra headsets integrate directly with Teams and will actually synchronize mute status between the headset and Teams!

I have had similar realization with regard to simply mosquitoes. We used to have to put bug-nets on doors and windows to stop bugs flying in during the summer. Now, not needed anymore - at most we get one bug flying in per week.

Geographic locationa affects far more than just latency. Even though you may have a 100 Mbps link on both client and server , only 10 Mbps might make it across the Atlantic Ocean. Connections between countries/ISPs are not unlimited in

Yeah, I am in the same boat - I have boatloads of unutilized bandwidth and storage space that I would love to contribute to a worthy cause like archive.org. Ideally, I would like to be able to point at some RSS feed of torrents of relevant

Sounds more like a track record of owners not patching their routers. Every brand of network devices has had serious security flaws. At least MikroTik is cheap and functional.

My preferred API design is RPC - expose various method calls to other systems. In practice, this means gRPC whenever possible, basic HTTP RPC when not, and finally SOAP is also fine if you are on a platform that has a sane implementation. I

The article claims that there is some push towards centralized DNS. I do not see the evidence to support this - the only reason Cloudflare is the default in Firefox is that DoH implementations are still rare. PowerDNS is free to implement D

BitLocker is great, especially as it can also take advantage of a TPM to protect against evil maid attacks . In contrast, VeraCrypt developers did not seem to understand what a TPM is when I tried to discuss the topic with them.

Every single version of Edge I have used has had unexplainable random pauses and jitter in GUI responsiveness. If they do some "clever" side-thread processing and queueing of inputs, I can imagine where this comes from. It was the

What would solve it is having your DNS have a low lifetime and then changing the DNS to point to not-Cloudflare. It would still be down for some users as long as the old (Cloudflare) DNS is cached, though.
