The comments here seem pretty anti-build-your-own. I really hope people don't start legislating that you can't build your own car. I build personal electric vehicles now, and I have aspirations of building a car. I hope legislator

This doesn't take into account that manufacturers used to under-rate the horsepower on their cars. Legend has it for the purposes of insurance and the NHRA.
