I hope this isn't considered spamming, but for anyone wanting to sketch a site or app on paper, I created some simple, free templates for web sites or apps. The templates are CC licenced and you can create your own sketch sheets too.

It's not code, but if you're designing a website or app, I created some free simple device templates (phone, tablet, web browser) to help you sketch your ideas on paper. They're CC licenced and you can create your own print t

Sorry, I worded my original post poorly. You need Javascript enabled to load fonts. For example, in Firefox, the WOFF fonts won't display unless Javascript is enabled (even if you have no Javascript on the page).

I self-host fonts for my website, but I only use WOFF. You don't need to use SVG, TTF or EOT unless you want to provide full support for all browsers. If you are happy to provide support for recent, modern browsers only, you can simpli

"That wasn't the case during WW2..." Not sure how well this is known, but every year, Oslo sends a giant Christmas Tree to London to be lit up in Trafalgar Square. This started in 1947 and is a gesture of gratitude from Norwa

Anyone have any other suggestions like these? Source Sans Pro is Adobe's first open source typeface and was designed by Paul D Hunt. It was specifically designed for user interfaces, and is available in multiple weights. I think the

Sorry you're having trouble with the site. I just tried visiting and it loads ok at my end. Here's a direct link to one of the designs (PNG image: the file is quite large at 2.7mb) http://www.interfacesketch.com/wi

"As a user I like the flat UI concept not because of the flatness, but because of the colours" I did an unsolicited redesign of a wikipedia article page a few months ago (mostly a tweak to the current layout). Although Wikipedia

Thanks very much! I wanted to keep all the existing features of an article page rather than eliminate anything. I think it's possible to do this while making the page feel a little less busy and cluttered.

Thanks. I think the structure and organisation of articles on Wikipedia is pretty sound, but some visual tweaks can help make the page more easily scannable and a litte bit more aesthetically pleasing (which I realise is a very subjective t

I hope I'm not hijacking this thread in any way by posting a link to my Wikipedia redesign attempt. It's not actual code - just a visual mock-up. I posted it a while ago to Hacker News but would love to hear feedback http:/&

Thankyou for the feedback! I wanted to add a splash of colour to the page so it didn't feel too monotonous, but it sounds like I may have chosen too strong a shade of cyan/blue!

[Shameless plug] If you want A4 or US letter gridded paper for sketching a mobile, web or tablet UI, I have a bunch of free ones on my site. http://www.interfacesketch.com

I have a website[1] that uses web fonts[2]. I have found that if you host the fonts yourself and compress the font files using Font Squirrel's web font generator service, you can get fairly small font sizes. I'm using two font wei
