We have finite time, self-actualization through creation is very human. Too much passive consumption is sleepwalking through life. However, creators often forget that mental exercise is like physical, you don't sprint 24/7 you hav

Taxpayers end up with bill either way, I think, either directly through UBI and welfare or indirectly through losses due to crime, policing costs. Europe has a good approach by using subsidies as a more palatable UBI initiative to keep thei

I'm of a similar mindset, just look how many software adjacent roles are basically UBI already. With DOGE the US seems to moving backwards, cutting down on gov busywork for what self-defeating purpose? They just end up flooding the mar

In the absence of UBI can you blame them? Not everybody can, or wants to, be productive.

It's just Google (web search) v2, if you are able to input the right terms and interpret the results critically you'll be accelerated. If not, you're just another mark.

Problem is what kind of moat does that SaaS have? The flip side of 'we replaced our dev team with vibe coders look how fast we print shitware' is now shitware value falls close to 0, as anyone can make it. Though you suggest he&#x

There would be if it was easy to recognize. You generally can't see this due to all the middle men and bloat, and that no corp really wants to measure dev productivity against revenue like this as it'd raise a lot of uncomfortable

Been a minute since I touched audio code but isn't PCM quite basic? Really hard to beat $18 though! Even the 2hrs it'd take a decent SWE would be easily 30x that.

The avg. SWE is a toss up if they create more issues than they solve over time. Factor in on-boarding, bugs and taking time away from other expensive people becomes >$100/hr real quick.

Right so at those rates why don't more Canadians gamble on running their own shop? Not like a CAN company selling worldwide, paying 1/3 salaries, only makes 1/3 the revenue? Unless corp taxes are 3x US?

Wow, at that rate I'm surprised we don't see more Canadian startups. Solo SaaS could make 10x that, maybe they don't have many devs that actually ship value?
