I've been a veggie farmer. I'm familiar with what's allowed in the NOP (national organic program), and given the chance to be exposed to the worst of it I'd choose it over RoundUp every day of the week.

I've reviewed grain-industry literature discussing this issue as a matter-of-fact consideration (in materials that were primarily on other topics). I've read accounts from grain farmers themselves. It's not made up.

A lot of people don't know that RoundUp is sprayed on many (perhaps most) grains shortly before harvest. It desiccates the grain crop, keeping the combine from getting gummed up and increasing yields. When I learned this, I decided eno

There's a huge problem with honey labeling—often the packaged product labeled as honey is indeed mostly a cheaper sweetener.

Most styles render this as Bernie Sanders’s. In some circles this rendering (Bernie Sanders’) is correct. Reasonable people disagree: http://www.dailywritingtips.com/possessive-of-proper-names-e... but those are the only tw

This is an issue of boundaries on the receiver's side. Other people's unreasonable expectations are not binding on us. Otherwise we quickly become enslaved to everyone else's whims, which is no way to live and certainly no wa

I recommend the book _Refuse to Choose_ by Barbara Scher. It is about how to use that Edison-like tendency of yours as an asset rather than having to stuff it all the time.

Having interacted with them many times, I'd like to add that these folks are some serious soil hackers. Klaas and Mary-Howell Martens are first-rate farmers and their grains are truly exceptional. Friendly, knowledgeable, and sharing.
