Radiation would probably be analogous to burning out random transistors, and you could target specific areas if you wanted to.

Probably... though I have an easier time imagining someone picking a lock or, in the case of fuzzing, using a bump key.

I can appreciate your point, but this is a poor analogy. There are people who do exactly that which you find objectionable, and cultures in which it is perfectly acceptable.

Indeed, in this case (and I'd imagine in most cases). IPv6 also gives your ISP the ability to make that choice for you; some ISP's, for example, block ports 25 and 80.

Thank you for recommending Nimrod; I'd never really looked into it before. Nimrod looks like a cute little language, but it seems to lack a staple of many other languages: support for the '\t' character in indentation.

Why would zo1 want to read SICP? zo1 is clearly quite happy with Python's named functions, and has no immediate incentive to "read SICP and gain an appreciation for higher-order functions."

I don't find these plots misleading. A line plot emphasizes slope and changes in slope, rather than the absolute heights of the data points as a bar or area plot would; so it's more important to have consistent vertical and horizo

I've used gevent in multiprocess situations, and it worked just fine. I did rig up my own gevent-based IPC, though. Just create a socketpair before forking, and attach some JSON-RPC (or protobuf/msgpack/etc) endpoints after.
