I think that if Apple wants to keep its products secret then they should be allowed to do whatever they can to do this. I must admit to wondering if they have 'used' this system in the past to pre-test market reaction to potential products

This is great news. We have just started using EC2 and S3 for a startup I've invested in and one of our concerns has been using mysql as it needs to be used on an EC2 instance. We've been looking at ways to ensure our data is safe, but thi

I think this is excellent news. Google is sitting on a pile of cash and it will take someone with vision to do this. Governments are so tied in to the oil machine that their hands are effectively tied. Good luck Google!

You are right, seems a really stupid question :P Laptops are purchased for their portability in general - means you can code from anywhere.

Great article, but then hindsight always is. I've always been an admirer of Jobs, despite his purported failings. How Apple continues into the future will be interesting to see.

Thanks to everyone who's posted. I've been reading about some negatives - slow response times. Has this been fixed or is it something that still happens still now?

Yeah. Some co's have co-founders, others not :) There's casees of both failing and both winning. Personally I've never wanted a co-founder. I prefer to hire people better than me at the things I'm not good at

The question was "What interests me is what forums / sites people on here use to discuss startups?" as I'm curious at what other mechanisms (other than this site) people use in their daily routine. It would be interesting to see if there ar

I bought an iphone which is the first pda-sized 'thing' I've ever had. I've found myself reading blogs and even a few chapters of a Python ebook on there (PDF) so whilst I love to sit and read a book I'd be very happy to do so on a device.

Hi. We're here - based in Newcastle. Existing business, however we've two startups underway that are being run by two independent teams. I'm trying to oversee them and help where needed as at 37 years old I get too tired for all-nighters!
