Would someone sell a site for this kind of money on Sitepoint? I've seen $15k-$30k on there, but not an amount as high as this. A quick glance is that even in the 'premium' category most are in this ballpark or less Edit: sorry, don't mean

Also this when you click on their store: "Thank you for visiting Psystar. We're sorry but the store is temporarily down due to the fact that we are currently unable to process any credit card transactions." This vapourware?

Well, from my perspective (and after using EC2 to great effect) I was just a bit disappointed that Google went down this route. Its not that its 'bad' but that its not as good as I was expecting. Everyone expects great things from Google s

I personally have gone for EC2 and intend to stick with them for now due to the support received and what I've been able to achieve using it. We've tried Google App Engine also (we're mainly Python guys) but that was my first concern that i

Maybe visit their site? There's a book mentioned above also. Its platform independent (kind of) so you can use PHP, Perl, Python, Ruby........

I buy Apple hardware. You've been able to install OS X onto other machines, with compatible internals, for some time. The reason I buy Apple hardware is partly because of the design - it really is much more thought out - but also because th

Most of the apps in MacHeist (my opinion) aren't useful to me - nor to many - and therefore the value is much lowered. Many of these apps have competitors that are freeware anyway. I bought the first one just out of curiosity and don't use

I don't believe in censorship, but I do believe in the community voting. I think the site/system works quite well as it is. If there would be any tweaking it would be to attribute some kind of score to people/sites which will weight give t

Here's an alternative to the "business guy" vs "hacker" debate which sometimes happens on here. I started out as a business guy 15 years ago and employed people to write software. My main focus was, and is, starting and running businesses

I think you have to take into consideration the TOS, copyright and also robots.txt. If you ignore these then its well within the site owners rights to do something about it - blocking you or further. We always look at the robots.txt file fi

Be careful here. The content is actually copyrighted. Whilst you can scrape it their T&Cs expressly forbid it. They sell licenses to access this information - the license is NOT expensive and they provide direct access to all the data

I've been a fan of Google for some time, but in this instance I still think AWS works better for me. We're into Python in a big way, so in theory the Google offering should fit nicely but I like what AWS has done, I like how they've done it

Well, personally I'm going to stick with AWS for now. Firstly out of loyalty, but secondly because Amazon has great support. Ok, ok - Google have brought this out and are focused on Python for now, but that shouldn't be a reason :) I use

It depends what you want to do with it ultimately. I use both - generally PHP for web-based front-ends and Python for heavy lifting (crawlers, text processing etc)

Microsoft have been buying small innovative companies for some time without a significant effect it would seem. I'm not sure that buying Yahoo! would make a great deal of difference to them either as I feel that Yahoo! is too big currently
