Of course if you take some kids with liberal arts degrees (or no degrees) and train them to have programming skills they will be cheaper than people with senior level skills and CS degrees. But isn't that to the benefit of those worker

Self-checkout shifts the physical and mental labor traditionally done by a worker onto the consumer to save money. Instead, I'm paying for the product _and_ performing the labor traditionally done by someone else chiefly to save the co

Definitely not the case for signaling to bicyclists and motorcyclists. Intent needs to be communicated as clearly as possible. It bothers me when drivers in the city do not use their turn signals.

I took a MyTaxi in Germany and it was terrible. I absolutely missed Uber when I was in Berlin, MyTaxi was a joke, same with most other taxi apps (i.e. Flywheel here in the Bay Area)

Overnight busses are great for traveling if you're in another country. You can pay for the transportation to get to your new destination, and save a night on lodging cost at the same time by getting to sleep. I took an overnight bus fr

Unfortunately, I have no sympathy for the company, as they recently laid off much of their full-time, expert-level employees for a quick and dirty buck, likely accelerating their demise. It is a shame, though, because in some places - despi
