So you're against people having more choice of where to live, and abandoning where they live if they deem fit, because it makes it hard to have effective laws in a country if people can easily move out? You thirst for power is incredib

Your argument is: - Somalia has no police - Somalia is not a good place to be - therefore those two things must be related somehow Which is wrong, because if that was the case, Iceland wouldn't have survived 300 years without police in

You are voluntarily choosing to fund murderers by merely circulating the US currency, and obviously by paying taxes. We all weigh these things out. Maybe the cocaine buyer is funding wars, but it's not his fault, just like it's no

ahallock asked the right question, but your response is wrong. Saying there are "immoral laws" and "immoral laws" as if to imply a difference, is intellectually dishonest and violates the law of identity in logic. You&#x

I find it funny you have a problem "coercing" poor women and single mothers (by allowing them the choice to sell a product they have) but you don't have a problem coercing sex workers out of the industry they chose to wor

Then diminish the scale. Is it not obvious that it's easier to have functioning democracies in smaller countries than larger ones?

I can say exactly that, watch me: their persecution priorities are corrupted. How many rights violations is this darknet thingy causing? More than the megabankers that get away with a slap on the wrist? And how much easier is it to arrest m

I'd like to encourage you to do that, as well as explain more about the infinite canvas implementation, the payload that gets saved, and maybe even alternative implementations you have considered and why you didn't go with them. I

Ah, that's why I can never find the kind of app I'm looking for (this). I keep using the keyword "canvas" but I can see how "wall" makes more sense. I guess I'll be busy googling tonight.

Alan Kay famously went through several iterations of rewriting the first Smalltalks from scratch and he is a big believer in that approach. I don't know if it's easy to find him talk about that explicitly but here's one examp

Alan Kay has been saying that at least since the 1970's, but the likes of Joel Spolsky have always argued against it. Now comes Martin Fowler to tell us that Alan Kay was right, without crediting him, of course.

If your build process and deployment are forcing you to decomponentize something so you have to copy and paste it, I'd blame those processes instead of saying there's an inherent shortcoming in the idea of composing components.
