If you have a pointer-only array you could just make it based on void*. Primitives and by-value arrays make it a lot harder.

I wonder if the solution could just be removing the answer box for questions with very conflicting answers. The system is harder to game if the user is stuck doing a bit of research.

The arguments feel disingenuous. A start-up is much less likely able to fight a subpoena for user data. A start-up is much more likely to disappear. The only real case I see is an argument against ads, though I don't see any disclaimer

The problem with most conspiracy theories is the number of Confederates it requires to keep a secret. Subtly tilting the scale with paper ballots across the nation requires many more Confederates than hacking across a network. This makes ha

I wonder if this new freedom to do security research can help us discover vulnerabilities in our IoT devices before they're used in another massive DDoS.

Is this a bad thing? You can just increase the number of front-end servers and have high throughput in a service with reliable tail latency.

This is a perfect example of dogma over logic. I'm not sure if the author just prefers we all use the Mac app store. Three rules for any installation process: 1. Make sure you trust the vendor 2. Make sure you trust the delivery (TLS)

Good feedback. I have one comment and one question: 1. I personally prefer to present a terse message to stderr and stack traces to a debug file. This helps a user give support more information when they're hitting transient issues. 2.

My favorite time-related false beliefs are about time zones: 1. 1AM happens 24 times a day 2. Ok, so 1A is screwed up because of DST. Noon happens 24 times a day. 3. The maximum distance between time zones is 24 hrs 4. Time zones are in 1hr

In C, a function with no parameters is variadic. You need to add "void" to preclude parameters. This is one of the few breaking changes in C++ where no parameters means no parameters.
