Did I not already say that? Both are just as guilty but your original thesis is simply wrong. Sorry.

China is just as much of a guilty party as the “west” could be. From massive corporate espionage, open stealing of western IP, blocking western companies from entering markets. It is foolish to think they are not at some level an adversary.

I don’t fully agree with either of those arguments. I think parts of it are certainly true but at the end of the day it takes two to tango. American consumers on average want high consumption for the lowest cost. I hate the argument “just b

I am wondering more and more if this becomes true as these smaller models take off. I might be old fashioned but I have yet to crack the workflows some of the hype people spout like Claude codes Boris where he and others talk about running

Huh? That’s what I said. They are going to win but wow the AI product team lacks a lot of imagination. I feel like an arm chair jerk saying it but they have had years to copy others and still don’t. They have the data agreements with busine

Right but that’s my point of them winning. They power the world’s businesses which have data agreements in place already and they have restructured renewals now to throw in copilot. People are not using it because it’s great but it’s all th

Microsoft is still going to win because they are the no risk option for many businesses but wow I might actually be embarrassed to be part of these efforts. I hate to use such hyperbolic language too but they have continued year over year f

I don’t understand these arguments. You have to realize anything an LLM does has been exploited for decades by well funded shops.

I am not sure I would trust a LLM agent to do this either. I would use an LLM to help write the script but not execute the trades.

Well said. Lots miss this key point and it’s what I mean by alpha. Where to start, what the angle is, and LLM can help develop though I would of course argue it’s a fools errand with how crowded the space is but you could still develop an i

I mean sure an LLM can indeed have useful ML functions BUT it is a fools errand to think an LLM at the retail level is generating any alpha. Help build a model sure. Whatever these weird mechanism of agents trading, no.

Sentiment analysis has been done programmatically for at least 2-3 decades. Retail using an LLM will have no impact.

I don’t understand this constant fascination with having language models trade stocks. Language models are very useful tools but not aligned at all with generating alpha.

I think is the classic dilemma where people don’t know how to value their time. Typical tech worker costs a company around $100/hour minimum. That $200 subscription cost can look mighty attractive if it saves some time or mental load.

Thanks for posting. I had been in the fence for the past few months of switching. The new AI products combined with the weird UIs had been irking me for a while. This is the final nail in the coffin. Opt-in is a terrible business model imo.

Agree and I have wondered behind close doors if this is not the mental model. You need to spend money to see what is working this was simply a way to see that.

Why fixate on Arab countries? Rich people live all over the world and there are increasingly more emission restrictions. And again, as I keep repeating myself, just because you are not the target demographic does not mean it does not exist.

Again thinking too small. Large business dealings are still done in person, who is going to give another entity $50mm or more without meeting in person, having dinner and getting to know the counter party. It’s not about lobbying so much as

Why would you think that? Rich housewives/spouses do exist. The Urus is at least to me the equivalent kind of car. Captures a market that does not appeal to traditional lambos. I could see this doing the same.

You are not thinking high enough the food chain. I mean heck you have tenured SV engineers cracking $1mm with RSUs. It’s not rare in finance for folks to be hitting $3-5mm with bonus. So that’s what $19k comp a day. If that individual is ma
