There are plenty of crappy family owned business that pay too little and expect too much. I don’t know if this is a public vs private company issue.

Are you aware for well over a decade US software engineers have been compensated many multiples compared to their counterparties outside of the US? 7% is around 280 employees. Just because companies are holding layoffs does not mean softwar

Like I said. Good luck with it. You’re most likely violating ToS and it’s always a game of cat and mouse.

What does this have to do with this thread? Go buy any other device then. My point is the doom and gloom is overblown, we have massively powerful devices already, no dark age is coming. This has no bearing on your perception of ownership of

Supply chain crunches are not unique or new. It happens. Earth is flooded with powerful smartphones, Mac’s are already on M5 generation. Most people already get most of their computing from their phone. We will be fine.

That’s right but depending on country there may be other legal requirements necessary so the costs tend to add up quickly and on average when you peak behind the curtains at an EU company you see it’s often easier to retain low performing m

You would be surprised. Don’t think about it as firing but also being overly cautious. If you run a division in the EU you are overly thoughtful for every single HC you add. You don’t take risks because that HC at minimum is going to cost a

Really depends on the type of job. Software? You are making bank in the US and partly because companies in the US can move quick because of their labor laws.

This is a tough problem because it’s not always great. There is a reason companies largely (not all!) think twice about innovation, hiring and building out new facilities in European countries and part of that are those labor laws. So you m

I am not arguing for one over the other but that these e-bikes are motorcycles and I know from experience nobody actually enforces those rules.

My anecdote only but the contraptions being sold as “e-bikes” are actually motorcycles. Like all things a few bad apples ruin it for everyone but in what I have seen it’s more than just a few bad apples. From maintained mountain bike trails

Maybe that’s just a naming problem then. But even if they called it “Ultra Max Super Pro,” I still wouldn’t assume it means access to every future capability, every internal tool, or every restricted model they ever build. To me, “Max” mean

And the Chinese models rip IP just like everyone else before them. Your argument is moot. This was a problem for 5+ years ago. Nobody cares or at least the majority voice does not care across the world. Cat is out of the bag and there is no

That sounds too dire. My suspicion is building a model either as a derivative or brand new is a solved problem. There are indeed capital constraints today but would wager that over the horizon those go down. If one business is restricting a

This is so similar to people arguing for plan tokens to be used with third party tools. It does not jive with my understanding of the world. Do people really expect that paying for a top plan actually gets you guaranteed access to everythin
