This is correct. (I'm one of the founders of 1% of Nothing)

It's very simple: Instagram had a responsibility to its employees to keep the lights on. Deals don't always go through. If FB would have walked away for any reason, they'd have to start up again on raising. It's also likely that TG was a

Or it could just piggyback the existing connections that are taking place. It could run metrics against every attempted outgoing or incoming transfer. This would include mail checks, notifications, or any in-app data use. Sure, it wouldn

No problem. I'm surprised that not many have brought this up before, which is why I did the post.

Can't say I agree with you about us "abandoning" our users. SimpleGeo was acquired by Urban Airship and the decision was made to discontinue the service. Disappointing, sure.

I'd love to take credit for that "brilliant move", but it was totally accidental. Michael Birch came up with the name back in April! As an aside, there's nothing missing in the funding rounds. In the current iteration, this is a pledge give

This is an idea, not a startup. It's about giving, which is universal. We would have launched it the day of the economic meltdown a few years ago and the message would have remained the same.

Correct, for now. We're currently evaluating a dump method as well, but haven't been able to put much time on it as we've been busy working on our API :)

It's not you missing something, it's RWW. We were actually trying to build "Alternate Reality" games, not "Augmented Reality". The clear distinction is that our plan was to build "game worlds on top of the real world" but didn't worry abo

Personally, having been in TechStars (founder of SocialThing), I think the programs are very different. Both have their merits, one is not necessarily better than the other, just different. Why the TS vs. YC animosity? We're (startup foun
