I suspect you're going to get hammered here but this is an incredibly important point. Aging and death forces the passing of the torch from the old generation to the new, and I think this is a crucial part of progress. A tragedy on par

I seriously doubt this is the case. Most bankers I know have regarded bitcoin with a keen curiosity rather than some kind of malignant threat.

But again, like the author said, they're pretty useful for truly global events from the OS itself. For instance, when the keyboard notification fires, it comes with useful information the app can use at runtime like xy coordinates invo

As a commuting Canadian I'm interested in this being addressed as well, as I'm sure millions of others are. All the self driving lab work seems to be taking place in California. If I value my life, shouldn't I want to buy a s

There is a bit of consensus about this exact issue in terms of the 'Uncanny Valley' hypothesis[0] and I'd tend to agree. We would have to dehumanize any sufficiently advanced or "self aware" AI agents if we mean to

I think Sam Altman touched on this masterfully when he wrote about how critical it is to have people tell their friends about your app/startup/whatever. Their reaction to it is the ultimate test of whether you built something anyo

I had the opposite experience - I never really had the desire to own a home until I had children. Once I had them, I really wanted one. Although I have to admit, paying a mortgage does make me feel slightly like a sucker.

Gotta agree with this. If YC is serious about biotech, we should expect them to start bringing domain experts into the fold soon - doctors, surgeons, eminent researchers, possibly folks with high level experience in regulation etc. I imagin

IMO, your vitriolic armchair attack here is a hundred times more arrogant than anything I read in the Medium post. The author isn't on trial here, he's simply relating his thoughts on the issue. I for one, found it a worthwhile re

Yep, absolutely. I tried everything, had an MRI done, and the only thing that reduced symptoms was starting regular high intensity workouts (Olympic lifts and such). A year later and I'm nearly symptom free.

Very true. The key word is "compelling". Once you try a few VR devices, even low end ones like a decent phone and a Google cardboard, you can definitely sense the possible seed of something game changing here. Maybe VR will work o
