I once got an emergency call to a theatre where a fight scene mishap left an actress punched out cold. There's less opportunity for harm in entertainment relative to medicine but it does happen sometimes.

Emphasis on layman and I'm not at my PC but when deepseek came out there was something I could pull in ollama that could run on modest hardware.

I saw a lecture years ago where, among other things, the professor demonstrated the iPhone calculator app doing calculations differently depending on if you held it portrait or landscape. I think that was poor design rather than intent to m

Surely investors and tech leaders, as distinct from speculators, should be testing the product and doing due diligence on the company. I'm just a layman and I liked how a small version of deepseek ran faster and with less power draw on

And I'm curious: was this a pivot from another industry, or did you just try out Claude on a dummy project?

I went to an ejected pilot call when I worked in EMS. Guy was ok but protocol was handle as potential spinal injury. The force of ejecting puts a lot of compression on intervertebral discs and the effect is cumulative so more ejections mean

Even here you are anthropomorphising. It doesn't 'know' anything. A human therapist would escalate this to a doctor or even EMS.

That argument makes sense for a mentally capable person choosing not to use eye protection while operating a chainsaw but it's much less clear that a person who is by definition mentally ill is capable of making such an informed choice

Not sure if you're serious, but wouldn't it be more efficient to upscale at source and stream the result? Extra bandwidth versus a million TVs all doing the same computation.

I can understand paying more for fast processors and so on but a standing desk just goes up and down. What features do the high end desks have that I am missing out on?

They can promise whatever they like knowing there's very little chance they will be put to the test. The last time the Lib Dems got a taste of power in 2010 it was by going into coalition with the Tories at the cost of dumping key elec
