Won't this just make everyone much more reliant on these technologies since they cannot to any task without asking the "omniscient chatbot"?

Just wanted to say thank you for all the incredible work and resources you publish. I've lost track of all the different skills I've learned from you, from computer vision, RNNs, minGPT, even speedcubing :D

I would love to see a minInstructGPT or a minRetro, or maybe something that combines instruction and retrieval into a readable codebase!

A 5 page PDF report has X amount of bits of information, whereas a paragraph has ~X/25 (5 paragraphs per page) amount of bits. Its an impossible task to retain the same information. But it might be interesting to create an Autoencoder

Very nice! I've never played Zork, but if someone is able to solve for scene continuity, I can imagine this opening up a whole new way of playing games. Either way, there's going to be a whole new field to adapt these generative m

Interesting how two camps are emerging for LLMs. This one is about how GPT actually learns something, the other one represented by Chomsky and Gary Marcus represent how GPT has learned nothing ( https://news.ycombinator.com/i

I agree that we have incredible waste on both sides, but there is an even greater culprit: people are lacking true meaning and purpose in their lives and are indulging in these foods to distract themselves from their inner emptiness.

chatGPT is simply a GPT model fine-tuned in an instruction oriented way to align with human-rated helpfulness, truthfulness, and harmlessness as a reward signal. The diagram on the chatGPT blogpost is literally the same diagram in the March

These LLMs will make the text-based internet unusable eventually. Unless someone solves the problem of verified identities on the internet, sites will be flooded with confident AI-generated prose that is completely wrong.
