Uninstall Firefox snap to end the pain, then d/l Firefox from mozilla.org, unpack to your home directory and launch it from there. It will work just fine and even auto-update itself. You can use `alacarte` or manually create a .desktop

Yes, it works. Do not use too much of it. If you don't mind the pureé-like consistency, you can further speed-up the whole process in a pressure cooker (Instant Pot). Follow the steps 1-3 from this recipe: https://www.pressu

I much preferred Gloom, the Quake 2 mod. Apparently, some servers are still alive: http://www.planetgloom.com/servers.cgi Here is a quick comparison of NS, Gloom, Tremulous and Unvanquished. https://www.reddit.co

Mk8 is a great car IF you don't mind touch screens and touch controls for everything instead of traditional rotating knobs and buttons. Unfortunately, a lot of people can't get over this change, so the Mk7 is considered a "

You can also use docker-tramp to enter locally running containers and do quick edits without worrying about installing an editor. It can be suprisingly useful.

Couldn't you just plug the wireless charger to the public charging port and then charge your phone wirelessly off of that? An airgapped solution. :)

Yes. The unpacked tarball. The only minor catch is, if you want a pretty icon, you might have to create a menu entry with alacarte by yourself with the following config: Name: Firefox Command: /where/you/untared/firefox&

To make Ubuntu a lot more tolerable, uninstall Firefox Snap, grab Firefox from mozilla.org, unpack to a folder of your choice. It will work fine and even auto-update itself.

Ubuntu LTS is great, but if you have a recent AMD cpu, you have to jump through some hoops to get newer kernel (install the linux-oem-22.04c) with better support for your hw. And when you do that, you still only get linux kernel 6.1. :(

It's quite stable actually, on par with Ubuntu. The stuff with rough edges is kept in the unstable repos.

Yes, but if you already have PayPal, it's much easier to just use it as opposed to: 1. get an account with a new back 2. transfer funds 3. have new temporary card issued 4. use that card to pay

If China does not have Google equivalent and chinese people are instead forced to use Google via vpn, what makes you think China will make some AI-related product available to the whole world? It will most likely be a closely-guarded secret

It's a bit more complicated than that. Here's a great article that explains how users can be sorted into categories (from beginner to student to expert) and what each of them wants and needs. https://breakingpoint.subst

Is there anything similar that would strip URLs from copied images? When you Copy Image... in Firefox, the URL is also copied to clipboard and then pasted around, see https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/
