It's not only Lightning, it's the myriad of other, sometimes totally custom, power connectors. Perhaps you're too young to remember the times when a laptop, phone, headphones and game console all required custom adapters?

There is a wonderful Bluey episode about this - Fairytale - where the dad tells a real life fairytale about living in the 80's.

the problem of microplastics is just barely starting to garner mainstream attention In India? I ask, because in Europe, there definitely is a lot of awareness. Products that advertise no microplastics are common, there are attempt

Right, that's the one.

Yeah, that's quite possible. My Sony also has some minor glitches like forgetting to output sound sometimes (a restart fixes it - it's most probably caused by one of the apps I have installed).

Oh, absolutely! And as the other guy pointed out, docker-compose can be quite reusable when developing locally if you write it right. But at $WORKPLACE we often use pytest-xprocess to start the required app in the same container where the t

Thanks for the reminder! Banggood. What a weird choice of name for an e-shop. :)

But it is comparatively easy to get a "good" bar of chocolate, they are usually marked as "free trade" or something like that. With clothes, there usually is no such indicator.

Oh that's clever. We dry our clothes on a rack in the corner of the livingroom (the added humidity is a bonus here, because otherwise we would have to run a humidifier all the time), but this (esp. the folding of the dry clothes) gener

It may not be now, but some people remember the time when the internet felt more like a community and it was glorious.

I think the main point is that small kids get the basic building blocks for learning languages from anything they hear (even if they don't understand it yet), so listening to as many languages as possible when they are young will make

Because you don't have to muck around with docker-compose. I guess some people might find that more attractive.

It's probably crashing. You can plug the TV into a smart plug and disconnect it from mains power when not in use. The boot times will probably be longer, but it won't crash as much during use.

I don't think so. It depends on the product, ie. Digital Trends are good for stuff like TVs, Serious Eats have great kitchen-related stuff reviews, etc...

I find that hard to belive. Ads most probably already funded all the research, development and manufacturing required to produce those TPUs. But we'll see, maybe Gemini will become profitable eventually.

These reviews where the whole video is a slideshow + robotic voiceover are so annoying. They contain 0% information, they're just a delivery vehicle for ads. And there is a ton of them!

All their services are just a way to get more information about their users so they can serve them ads. Those Gemini queries will be no exception.

In theory, yes. In practice, you could start a Hyundai with an USB key, because the manufacturer did not bother to implement any security measures (it's cheaper that way).

What's wrong with Crunchyroll? I just recently noticed that new Sony TVs come with a dedicated Crunchyroll button and wondered whether this streaming service is worth it? It seems like you don't think it is, correct?
