Understood, sorry about that. But that's how it feels to me. It's mostly because my mental image of multistage builds is different, I see them as a way to make the final image smaller by throwing away everything from the previous

tldr; ARG values are only valid in the build image, not anywhere else. In a multistage build, they are only valid in the image that declared them (ie. they do not magically pass over to any other image).

Yes, they would, it tracks all BT devices, not just Airtags. But even with an unmodified tracker, it's quite hard to locate one in a car, because there is a lot of hiding spaces (especially if you put one in some hard-to-reach space su

I have a hobby that on any RPC framework I encounter, I file a Github issue "did you think of TCP_NODELAY or can this framework do only 20 calls per second?". So true. Just last month we had to apply the TCP_NODELAY fix

Yeah, but it's lot cheaper. I see a pattern where some of my friends can get a lot out of the combination of cheap plane tickets and Airbnb. The only downside is that you never know where you're going in advance, because your&#x27

Does AirBnb do zero validation of listed properties? I highly suspect that they just don't care.

Oh it's nice to see Animation Obsessive here. Their blog https://animationobsessive.substack.com/ is worthy of a subscription - most of their articles are both informative and very well written.

Subscribed! I am more of a Bosch fan though. Braun appliances are a bit "too much retro" for me. ;)

OTOH, not being connected to the mains is probably a lot safer, especially if you use it in the bathroom.

This. I don't mind paying more, but it must be worth it.

by imp0cat 2y ago
Yeah, I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would.

But isn't that exactly the problem with Google? Everyone wants their shares to go up, more growth, which can then lead to questionable actions on their part. Did you see the recent article about search enshittification (tldr; to make k

Wouldn't it be better and faster to use a local geoip database for the IP lookup instead of doing a network call for each?

> I wonder why parents consistently listening to older music than their childless peers Oh that one is easy. They probably watch Bluey with their children. That show features stuff by Rossini, Offenbach, Tchaikovsky, Holst (J

This combo makes mobile web experience great again.

Brutal? Yeah. But it's a great read.

Have you tried Phind? I find that it takes most of the "clunkiness" out of the process of searching by interrogating AI + searching the web at the same time.

Because it's funny and nostalgic. Seriously, who doesn't love those two guys and their videos (I wanted to write "parodies", but damn, some of those really hit hard).

My last Samsung with a back-mounted fingerprint sensor (A40) could do that (there was an option in the settings to enable scrolling with the fingerprint sensor).

We gained a lot! In fact, I think we are approaching the possible maximum (that maximum obviously being the nineties/early 2000 days of audiogalaxy, napster etc... when people shared pretty much any kind of music).

While we are at it: throw out the boxes of your old phones, expecially if you have already thrown out the phone itself 5 years ago. Please. I promise you don't need them and you could use an extra drawer. This hits close to

Alexa is perfectly fine for that even without ChatGPT-like capabilities. The Skills situation might be a disaster, but if you just want to control devices in your home, it's great. The level of integration with pretty much anything is

I'd hope not. I mean, what would be the point? Get your mouth colonized by this "harmless" bacteria and then kill it?

Definitely. They have to.

Probably, but the difference I see is that single application of this product is enough (as opposed to buying mouthwash and other stuff that's often discussed here like toothpaste with Novamin for the rest of your life).

Samsung Smart Tags work quite well for this. The devices are detected by most Samsung devices (so not just phones, also TV sets).

This. Samsung Smart Tags work great, but not all Samsung phones support UWB do do check before you commit to a purchase.
