Never mind the fact that it's just plain wrong to assume that "those bands NEVER used to get airplay". E.g. there are a number of significant artists on the label Drag City, such as Ty Segall and White, both of which get plen

It doesn't negate the validity of wanting compensation for Spotify plays. Not being on a music service is one way to let your listeners know that the system is fucked and maybe make it change.

I think this also speaks to the effort these companies have put into their mobile web apps. For a while I used the web FB app because their iPhone one was fubar.

I find it amusing that an article that's supposed to criticize a controlled media system is itself a thinly veiled advertisement. I guess mass media has issues everywhere you look :)

You seem to know what you're talking about. I've read up a few sources in Russian, and all of them say there were breaches of law related to commerce and the company was warned, but none of the articles actually mentions the actua

You don't need this app if you're using Rdio though. If you add an album by a band to your collection, Rdio will notify you next time a new album is added to that artist's catalogue.

…until Spotify dies or is replaced with something better. I haven't found a single way to manage a music library because I don't have a single music library. It's kind of crappy having it spread across MP3s, FLACs, and variou

It's not an answer to you directly but more of an observation: The effect for this page is very laggy on a 1-year old MBP, and makes the text barely readable until a certain scrolling point is reached. I do not understand the purpose o

Agreed. Sweeping generalizations about Mozilla and subjective discussions of Firefox's UX have nothing to do with a public dialogue about evaluating Persona's current state.

How's the TM backup treating you? I've set up netatalk too, and had the backup's sparsebundle get corrupted 3 times over the course of half a year leading me to abandon it. Now I just rsync to the NFS fileshare, which is less
