Take the video of "building an HTTP REST api". On the one hand it is lighting fast to create something basic. On the other hand it misses so many details... proper error responses that the frontend - presumably there is one - ca

Maybe there will be legal precedent set at some point around derived work in terms of the set of data used to train the AI? I'm not hopeful though.

I agree. Fail only applies when talking about losing your ability to house, cloth, and feed yourself (and your family). Otherwise, it is just play-acting at failure.

Where do you work that you get to avoid agile, scrum, and war mode? I'm jealous. Then again I've always just been stuck working for startups my entire career. I have a family and desperately need something more stable.

I have never had typescript really get in my way and it does have an escape hatch if you need it so, personally, I would always prefer to use it.

There is something weirdly naive and arrogant about the way this works.

It seems that reasonable changes - well vetted ones - seldom happen. What to do? It is a pretty common pattern now that if you allow someone to take on a "task" without guardrails it just explodes into nonsensical feature creep.

Do you happen to have any other suggestions about reading? I am currently reading "Asynchronous Programming in Rust: Learn asynchronous programming by building working examples of futures, green threads, and runtimes" and there is

I couldn't agree more. Without showing specific approaches for handling errors, there is too much uncertainty around whether or not htmx is actually a good approach. It doesn't matter how rare an error is. They happen and have

I am a novice when it comes to rust but as I recall the instant you put anything that isn't a scalar type you need lifetimes. Is that what the person you are replying to frustrated with? How would not copying be handled? Sorry for the

Wouldn't this simply be a situation where you are not checking for nil? I think the more nefarious situation is when a library deep down decides to panic on you.

Do "current gen" llms use Markov Chains? I have been wanting to look into trying to understand this stuff but I honestly don't know where to begin. I guess I should clarify that I prefer being able to purchase textbooks or u

Very sorry to hear. I lost my boy five years ago and it just isn't something that ever gets better in the true sense, but we all have to learn how to live with it somehow.

It is painful reading "clean architecture" based code. It... just kill it with fire. The indirection and abstraction turns even simple problems into overly complex nightmares.
