How do you manage your ideas? I'm using a combination of Google Sheets, Notion, and a notebook. I rate each idea in Sheets using colors and I keep Notion and a notebook for research so that I don't think about an idea twice.

About the choice of the database. Why did you decide to go with PSQL instead of a NoSQL database as Firebase does? Doesn't that affect your scalability? Otherwise, great project!

Are you familiar with Firebase's write rules? DynamoDB has something similar with Cognito, but it's _very_ limited. That's when I figured that I'm not gaining anything by using Cognito.

This looks so expensive! I've been going in the same path (with centige.com, WIP) but then I stopped and refactored some stuff: - I had lots of lambdas written in TS. Things were going out of hands. So I refactored them into three lamb

If you're working on a JavaScript project, do you prefer copying from SO or installing a (micro-) package that solves your problem? I seem to prefer the former.

If too many people are using the unofficial API for a product, is it right to assume that building a competing product offering a better official API, would be successful?

Not sure about German-speaking countries, but in Francophone countries, everything is in French. Even if the default is English, the user would insist on switching to the French version.

G Suite does this and never saves my preferences! I'm in Tunisia and the business language is French. My PC and my browser are both set to English. Yet, Google insists on showing me the Arabic page! Not only that, but their translation

I made one for myself a while ago: https://github.com/ImedAdel/arkiv , it just tries to look for an archived version or sends you to a page to build to archive the website. Not quite perfect, but does the job for me :)

Surprisingly, setting JetBrains Mono to 13px in the editor is still way more readable than any other font. Especially on Windows.

Zerodha.com seems to be banned in Tunisia. Is that because of spam or due to some regulations in India?

Yup. Google Cloud seems to be having frequent problems lately. However, I feel like GitHub being down AND Stack Overflow would slow down work. And HN is a good place to know what's going on.

I think my biggest nightmare is SO, GH, and HN all being down at the same time. Edit: A nightmare is an exaggeration. But it would slow down work.

I like learning things that are both trending and in demand. So, for me, the next thing is trying to build something with React Native and Go as they seem to be very trendy and in increasing demand.

Hello HN! It's Sunday 8 PM here, and I've just finished my little weekend project: an emoji maker using React and SVG. I wanted to make this project in order to test out how far can I depend on React, React DOM, and SVG for buildi

Similar to using spaced repetition to learn programming languages, you can use the same technique to organize your problem-solving skills sharpening sessions. A while back I made a Chrome extension for LeetCode. [0] It takes care of schedul

I did use Anki for scheduling my math problems' reviews and the results were pretty satisfactory. Do you think I should publish the chrome extension that I made for LeetCode or does Anki do the job?

Something (weird) that I noticed in many Scandinavian websites is their short domain names. I don't know the reason, but I like the fact that you can type 5 letters and access the service that you want.
