I'd agree. I'd rather hire someone who's willing to know what he/she does or doesn't know, and rather than pussy foot around the issue, trying to remember it, google's the answer, fixes the problem and moves on.

Hey, I took the data from http://www.taniwha.org.uk/gprs.html which has a pretty horrible format/ hard to read, and turned it into a google spreadsheet. It's useful to have bookmarked, especially if you travel and switch out SIMs. Would a

is it not a waste for someone to open a fire-hydrant so they can bathe their dog's paws? Your definition of "usage is not a waste" is really questionable. BTW, there was no ad-hom attack on your handle, but rather an observation of your pot

I don't see your point here. Encouraging waste because a resource doesn't have scarcity seems a bit strange. Perhaps it can be piped to areas that have scarcity? Many rivers etc are dammed to provide municipal water; so oversupply might enc

"Thoughts on Flash" would have gone through several lawyers, as there's a real chance of a serious lawsuit in that instance. This one would be more marketing driven and would probably only get a cursory review.

Being one of the people that Gabe sent the ad request to - i can attest ot the fact that the adly spend rates are just not good enough to present value for money. There's a very high threshold in which i'm willing to take money (say, 3-4 fi

Actually, i disagree it's a bad idea to have two devices; I trust that the apple extreme will work fantastically to share a disk for me; they get the OS and the fs, so it's pretty straightforward. A one device solution? Well, that'd be a ro

I'd echo this experience; I have a drobo fs with the new wd caviar greens. It works like a treat and is very quiet. I'm next looking into a tape backup solution for longer term storage, but for now- the drobo is an excellent way to work wit

Actually, the faster payments system make interbank transfers (for member banks) go within minutes, and intrabank transfers shouldn't take more than a few seconds. That, at least, is my most recent uk banking experience...

Hey, just a quick tip- it's probably best not to suggest specific diseases or suggest such a thing about notable figures (especially those whose health has an effect on their share prices). It's better also if you can spell their names prop

I'm still genuinely perturbed that people think the integrated 3g here is a good deal. I got the WiFi iPad, specifically so I could choose the right data provider and get on-the-go data for my MeFi. (which would also support my iPhone, my f

whereas in reality, "The cost of ... antivenom is $2000 – $3000 per bottle" [1] and you should hope that your health insurance covers it. I've heard of anti-venom which is more like $10k per bottle, but can't find a link. oh, and you'll ho

The article/memo says that Apple are waiting for Adobe to present a ported version of flash that works. It says that they promised early 09, late 09, early 2010, late this year... in other words: it's vaporware, still.
