So what's you work and do you enjoy it? For me the key is just having other hobbies. I do less of that (which is vaguely defined ops work + some programming) as hobby because I do it at work, but it's not like I lack other hobbies

shrug I turned one of my hobbies that I like into paying for other hobbies I like. The key thing I was relatively good at it so finding people to pay me to do it on good conditions was easy. I might do that hobby far less in free time but

Moderation. It's always moderation. "Anyone can write there" also means "anyone can write bollocks there". From ye-olde name-calling and flaming to SEO/ad spam.

nope. If something in jurisdiction would make license invalid that would not mean you can do what you want with the code, that would mean that you can't use that license.

Then you have fucked up your app config. If user gives your app a directory to play with, exiting that dir via ../something is the last thing you should do, it's horrible malpractice that just causes annoyance "distro scripts

but you're throwing performance away. If you don't want cross-customer leaks just give each customer both SMT threads of the core

Doesn't just giving a VM both threads of the core mitigate that ?

Absolutely yes as one DB might be used by multiple instances. You could theoretically get 128 core CPU and use all of the cores for django process..

maybe they found proper SQLite options enabling WAL helps a lot as it allows concurrent reads and a write https://www.sqlite.org/wal.html
975.
▲
by

Yes, just not at the same time. If you can you want to enable WAL (that requires some shared memory primitives, so same machine generally), because otherwise writes block reads https://www.sqlite.org/wal.html

Did you use WAL? But in general, funelling writes into one thread is the way to get around it

I saw that complaint but for all purposes it's a moot issue If your code allows it you're fucking doomed anyway and will have multiple other type-related problems all over the codebase.

TI C62xx and C64xx DSPs don't understand 8 bit bytes at all and everything was at least 16 bit. There was no uint8_t there, char is 16 bits etc.

It would absolutely prevent it. Run app as one user, nginx as other, go-rwx on all app files, set the group of the "static" files as www-data and g+r on them and now web server can't access app files. It's LITERALLY app

Which makes me wonder what's the point of the article's author, 4k vs 6k on 32 inch one is already far into diminishing returns, 8k on 32 inch is just numbers for numbers sake

I just include writing robust code in my estimates and don't tell anyone. Shoddy code only happens in "the production is on actual fire, not manager-imagined fire" fixes and not for long.
